Maintenance Technician

Pay: $20.00 – $24.00 per hour
Location: Kawaihae, HI 96743

Tasks

Assist in facility improvement projects, equipment upgrades, and general maintenance work on a regular basis.
Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and basic electrical issues.
Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment.
Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner and prioritize tasks based on urgency.
Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and inspections.
Collaborate with other team members of varying disciplines to identify and implement process improvements.
Ensure all work complies with company policies, food safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Strong mechanical aptitude with experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Proven experience working safely and effectively with general hand tools, power tools, and adherence to standard shop safety protocols.
Basic or advanced knowledge of electrical systems and maintenance is a plus.
Welding skills for fabrication or repair work is a plus.
Experience in occupations similar to industrial mechanic, automotive mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, or similar technical field.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
Ability to work in environments that may be dusty, humid, hot, or loud
