Maintenance & Engineering Manager

Pay: $70,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year *Salary Based on Food Processing Engineering Experience
Location: Kawaihae, HI 96743 *Relocate before starting work (Required), No Relocation Available

Position Overview
The Maintenance & Engineering Manager has oversight of the processing equipment and building. Vendor and sub-contractor recruitment and assignments per budget. Position monitors various systems. Assist the maintenance department with drawings, troubleshooting and scheduling of sub-contractors to ensure all process equipment and building systems are operating efficiently.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct your team with Leadership, Communication, Written assignments and Follow-up of the proper completion of those assignments.
- Work closely with the management team to plan and execute capital projects and implement and complete equipment and facility maintenance and repairs necessary to meet maximum production expectations.
- Ability to maintain/create multi-layered Vendor / Sub-contractor listings on the Island.
- Provide engineering solutions to daily maintenance and processing equipment malfunctions to keep production equipment operational.
- Inventory and restock parts and equipment used for processing equipment & repairs as needed.
- Lead and direct your crew on Planning/Installation/Predictive Maintenance of plant processing equipment and facility upgrades.
- Establish or adjust work procedures and team schedules to meet production schedules, as well as preventive maintenance assignments.
- Prioritize the reduction of machinery downtime through re-design and engineering improvements.
- In case of emergency alert emergency personnel and provide power and utility information as needed.
- Support compliance to all Plant Safety, LOTO, Food Safety, PPE, and GMP standards, and all applicable rules and regulations related to Food Processing.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
- Excellent administrative and communication skills, verbal and written, and computer skills
- Extensive knowledge of Electrical, Plumbing and Mechanical systems
- Ability to design, read and understand technical documents, drawings, and blueprints. (In-house design software is called “Solidworks”)
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
Experience:
- Management: 3 years (Preferred)
- Facilities maintenance: 3 years (Preferred)
- Project engineering: 3 years (Preferred)
